Diabetes prevention and self-care education for vulnerable project was launched
On 17 December, at Ani Plaza Hotel, Armenian Red Cross Society launched Diabetes Prevention and self-care education for vulnerable project. It will be implemented in 4 urban and 16 rural communities.
Lusine Kocharyan, ARCS Head of Social and Healthcare Department presented the goals and geography of the project, its components and principles of implementation.
The beneficiaries are the people with diabetes of targeted communities, their family members, the population of the targeted communities. The goal of the project is the improvement of diabetes prevention and care, prevention of complication in diabetes patients through creating supportive environment and awareness raising on healthy lifestyle among general population. Volunteers of targeted Ararat region will be actively involved in the project.
Nazeli Kirakosyan, ARCS Youth Coordinator, talked about ARCS experience of implementing health projects with the participation of Young volunteers.
