From June 13 to 19, the Armenian Red Cross Society organized a summer school for Syrian Armenian children, as a part of the “Promoting Integration of Syrian-Armenians'' project in Lori region, Stepanavan, with an active participation of the ARCS volunteers.
The summer school carried out with two phases; the first phase was passed for middle school pupils, and the second phase - for high school students.

Considering the needs of Syrian-Armenian children, the agenda was very comprehensive and dynamic: topics about communication skills, conflict management and time management were discussed and interactive games were organized based on the themes.

Moreover, the specialized team from ARCS Stepanavan branch conducted interactive sessions on First Aid and Disaster Risk Management in order to raise the awareness of Syrian Armenian children on how to react in case of any emergency.
Besides, morning workouts, different roll plays, performances, intellectual games, competitions and campfire were organized.

Furthermore, every evening, the children took part in cultural events. They came up with dances, songs, poems, which was a great opportunity for them to closely communicate with the volunteers and make new friends.
Most importantly, we accomplished one of the main goals of this camp, which was to establish a friendship between the Syrian Armenians and the ARCS volunteers; we consider this an important step to integrating Syrian Armenians in the Armenian society.
