"Building Safe And Resilient Communities" Project Workplan

With the financial support of Austrian and Swiss Red Crosses and Austrian Development Agency, Armenian Red Cross Society implements II phase of “Building Safe and Resilient Communities” project in Yerevan, Vanadzor and Stepanavan cities, as well as in 8 rural communities of Lori region. The project launched on 1 December, 2015 and will continue till 1 December, 2018.

 

Project is aimed to reduce vulnerability of rural and urban community population to natural and manmade disasters and strengthen capacities.

 

In order to achieve the objectives of the program, activities are organized in the following main directions:

 

  • Support communities (rural and urban) to strengthened their disaster risk management capacities based on analysis of their disaster vulnerabilities and related development needs.
  • Strengthen coordination and, cooperation between ARCS, other CSOs and government agencies through joint actions, advocacy and knowledge sharing
  • Enhance ARCS operational knowledge and organizational capacities for the scaling up of DRR programming.

Main beneficiary groups of the project are population of target 10 communities (around 131000), as well as 28000 pupils from 58 target schools of Yerevan and target communities.
