Cooperation with the Union of Samaritans

On 18 May, a Twinning agreement signed in Geneva between Armenian Red Cross Society First Aid (FA) Department and Swiss Samaritans Union Troi-Chene branch.

Samaritans Union is a member of the Swiss Red Cross and conducts FA trainings and FA assistance during various events. In the Geneva canton (state) only it has 12 branches, one of which is Troi-Chene branch.

ARCS FA Department has been cooperating with the Union of Samaritans for many years. Cooperation between the two organizations started in 2000, when Raymonde Ozainne` visited Armenia for the first time to participate in ARCS FA competitions. Samaritan Union supported the implementation of FA competitions and training sessions.

On 18 May, 2014, the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Samaritan Union Troi-Chene branch was celebrated, and on that occasion the Twinning agreement was signed. Head of ARCS FA Department Armine Poghosyan and volunteer Roksana Karapetyan were invited to Geneva to sign the Agreement.

In this phase, needs assessment is being carried out, FA assistance and experience exchange capabilities are being discussed. 

By the end of October, Swiss delegation, consisted of 5 members will visit Armenia, including Samaritan Union Troi-Chene Branch President and Vice-president.
