From vulnerability to self-sufficiency

In the frames of “Refugee reception and integration” project, implemented with the financial support of UNHCR, ARCS initiated income generating activities for vulnerable groups of refugees: women and elderly or disabled.

Today, despite having certain skills, refugees are finding fewer opportunities meeting barriers in employment and this project will allow autonomy and self-sufficiency and help refugee families secure much needed income to provide for themselves.

ARCS has provided around 70 struggling families and individuals with means of generating income in such fields as photography, sewing, bakery, hairdressing, make-up, manicure, construction works, coffee shop, etc. All the beneficiaries were of the project received training in business start-up and received knowledge and skills, to assist them in starting their own business and improve their living condition.
