The most affected by the hail 960 families, 4300 people in total, in Shirak region on June 27, 2019, received financial assistance from the Armenian Red Cross Society (ARCS) in September, 2019. Each member of these families received 35 215 AMD (151 424 500 AMD in total).

After the disaster, the Shirak regional administration conducted a preliminary needs assessment to identify the most vulnerable families, who lost 75 to 100 percent of the harvest. The Armenian Red Cross Society, as a humanitarian organization an auxiliary to the government, applied to the Emergency Response Funds of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to raise funds to support hail-affected populations and received a positive response.

The Armenian Red Cross Society finalized the clarification of the most affected families' lists in close cooperation with regional and local authorities.

Financial assistance was provided to the most affected families of Shirak, Hovit, Kamo, Basen, Jrarat, and Karnut communities, through “Gyumri” and “Ani” branches of “ArbusinessBank”.
